Lemon Studios, established in 2003 by Billy and Fernando Rovzar alongside Alejandro Lozano and Erica Sánchez, is a specialized development and production studio in the film and television industry. With a focus on film, the studio has curated a portfolio of over 17 award-winning films, notably including "After Lucía," which garnered acclaim at the Cannes Festival, and the series "Sr. Ávila," recipient of an International Emmy. Furthermore, the studio has achieved box office success in Mexican cinema with productions such as "Matando Cabos," "KM. 31," and "Salvando al Soldado Pérez." In the realm of television, Lemon Studios has delivered over ten series, including "La Piloto" for W Studios, "Sr. Ávila" for HBO Latin America, and "Paramedics" for Canal Once. Notably, the studio has also achieved traction with "Control Z" and "Monarca" for Netflix, as well as "Un Buen Divorcio" broadcast on VIX, expanding its reach in television broadcasting. Excitingly, its forthcoming project, "Las Azules," is set to launch on Apple TV.

Billy Rovzar has played a significant role in the media and entertainment industry since its inception. His career commenced with the establishment of Lemon Films in 2004, marking the initiation of his prosperous journey in film production. Notably, productions such as "Matando Cabos" and "Kilómetro 31" garnered both national and international acclaim, with accolades including selection at the Sundance Film Festival and the rejuvenation of the Mexican horror genre.

Venturing into international production under Nala Films enabled collaboration with esteemed personalities and expanded outreach beyond Mexico. The evolution of Lemon Films into Lemon Studios in 2018 signified diversification into television, film, theater, and video games. Rovzar's notable accomplishments encompass international acclaim via an International Emmy for the fourth season of "Sr. Ávila", positioning Lemon Studios as the first Mexican production company to attain this accolade.

His leadership in the production of prominent television series such as "Sr. Ávila", "Monarca" and "Control Z" has firmly established his standing within the entertainment industry. Additionally, his foray into theater, evidenced by award-winning productions like "La Obra Que Sale Mal" and "Peter Pan que Sale Mal", underscores his adaptability and dedication to the expansion of entertainment. Fernando Rovzar, an alumnus of Boston University, has built a distinguished career in the entertainment industry. As a co-founder of Lemon Studios, alongside his brother Billy and partners Alejandro Lozano and Erica Sánchez, he has played a pivotal role in the creation of successful film productions.

Notably, his contributions to acclaimed movies such as "Matando Cabos" and "Kilómetro 31" have significantly impacted the Mexican cinema landscape. Furthermore, his later productions, including "Amor, Dolor y Viceversa", "Salvando al Soldado Pérez", and "Hasta que la Boda nos Separe", have garnered widespread acclaim. Venturing into television production, his involvement in series such as "13 Miedos", "Paramedicos", "Sr. Ávila", "La Piloto", and "Monarca" reflects his remarkable versatility and talent.

Additionally, his participation in Netflix original series "Monarca" and "Control Z" has been instrumental in their success. Furthermore, as the screenwriter and director of the feature film "Mentada de Padre", Fernando has adeptly demonstrated his capacity to craft compelling content for diverse audiences.

His directorial work on "Hotel Cocaine" and the creation of the series "Las Azules" for Apple TV+ have solidified his standing in the industry. Su carrera empezó en Televisa en el área de Planeación Estratégica y control de negocios, participó en producciones como "Big Brother", mas tarde entro a Televisa Cine, en el 2005 se unió al equipo de Lemon hasta el 2015. Ese año entro a 11:11 donde produjo dos temporadas de "La Hermandad" y la primera temporada de "La Fiscal de Hierro, para volver en el 2017 a Lemon Studios como Vicepresidenta de Producción y Socia.

ALEJANDRO LOZANO

HEAD CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Alejandro Lozano is a renowned Mexican showrunner, director, and screenwriter with a career spanning over 20 years in the audiovisual industry. His versatility has allowed him to excel in both film and television, exploring a wide range of genres.

Throughout his career, Alejandro has directed over 15 television series, including the popular "Control Z" for Netflix (2019-2021), which was viewed by over 20 million households and ranked in the Top 10 in more than 60 countries. He has also overseen notable productions such as "The Black Widow", "Rosario Tijeras", "Amar a muerte" and "Paramedics". One of his most notable projects is "Sr. Ávila" for HBO Latin America, a series that won the prestigious International Emmy Award for best non-English language series.

On the big screen, Alejandro has made his mark with 5 feature films. He directed and co-wrote "Matando Cabos" (2004), the most successful film of the year and winner of the Audience Award at the MTV Movie Awards. His subsequent film, "Sultans of the South", solidified his reputation as one of the top action directors in the Mexican film industry. Additionally, he directed "El Santos vs La Tetona Mendoza" (2012), the first Mexican animated film to be invited to the esteemed Festival de Annecy and recipient of the CANACINE award for best animated film. In 2022, he released "Matando Cabos 2: The Mask of the Mask" and in 2023, his most recent film, "The Taste of Christmas" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Throughout his career, Alejandro has honed his style through dedicated practice. His passion and commitment position him as one of the most remarkable and versatile talents in the Mexican audiovisual industry.

Currently, Alejandro is developing his next feature film and new series for various platforms, always aiming to innovate and engage audiences through compelling storytelling.
